If the network is listed just as "Connected", the device is likely already registered. Try HBO.com or ABC.com to test the connection, and attempt to go through the splash page before proceeding
(If you aren't sure if the guest is connected or not, have them click on the network. If the button reads "Connect" they are not connected. If it reads "Disconnect", they are connected
Alternatively, you can click Network & Internet settings, then click on change connection properties
Remember, the IP address must not start with "169". If it does, the device is not connected, and manual registration will not be possible. Follow the HN Template for further assistance.
